TRANSPARENT LANDSCAPE

April – June 2009

It is not an experiment of composition decision in landscape by interior approach! And it is not interior design by exterior (landscape) sculpture! This is a feeling you get after visiting our exhibition!

At our exhibition the abstract sculptures made of the strongest and heaviest materials (granite, sandstone) are free and light and they arise sensation of inside expansion. The exhibition is not phantom, but it is transparent, it has not got borders, it does not fit in interior, but it creates its own air landscape. Lines and shapes make free rhythm, gallery’s borders become fuzzy, this rhythm carries you further, and your look is passing from one sculpture to another, each of which has its own music and leading-motive… TRANSPARENT LANDSCAPE. The sculptural composition is light and airy, it seems to be transparent, it is like a symphony which can sound both in interior and outside in small open areas (gardens and parks).
The idea of the exhibition is based on the difference between two plastic schools – abstract and realistic. Here the abstract works by young talented sculptors Sergey Borisov and Tarasy Troshin increase the impression of realistic sculpture by Vitaly Vargachev, and otherwise.
The accent point of the exhibition is the works by Vitaly Vargachev, a master of animalistic classical sculpture school. There are his «Black Swan» and «Panther». Young generation seems not to be able to work like him, we have fast tempo of living, and we do not have time to concentrate on details. Vargachev has everything: in bronze he shows tactual sensation – feathers of sullen swan and shiny skin of young carnivore beast. His sculptures have movement, beast character, and their plastic.
