SCULPTURE AND INTERIOR DESIGN - 2011
January, 28th - March, 20th
"Sculpture and Interior Design" exhibitions are our traditional annual projects along with the exhibitions of landscape and park (exterior) sculpture. These projects were designed for introduction of new works, ideas and forms in this area to people. Design itself and the role of modern sculpture and plastics in it have become our annual exhibition dissuasion. Interior designers, decorative and applied arts artists, ceramic and textile artists were asked for collaboration.
Nowadays interior design is often considered to be a good combination of colour spectrum and space which is planning, placing of furniture, household appliances, etc. Hardly ever designers offer to flesh out any interior aesthetically with pieces of art, like paintings or graphics; sometimes one can see bold ideas with sculpture and decorative and applied arts.
At our exhibition there are works by such masters as Sergey Falkin, Julia Muradova and young sculptors - Tatiana Shubina, Olga Ardovskaya. The Falkins's works are bronze sculpture masterpieces which can decorate any exquisite interior. The works by Olga Ardovskaya and Tatiana Shubina are mostly for bold ideas. Their works are sculptures made of scrap metal, and although such techniques are already well-known in Russia and other countries, such works arouse much interest of public.
Applied and Decorative Arts were represented by works of Boris Paley, Natalia Borisova and Igor Andryukhin. Aidar Ishemgulov, a sculptor, decorated our exposition with mirrors made especially for our project.
Sales growth shows the general tendency of putting away well-tried glamorous ideas of interior design and interior space. The second exhibition in this area has shown sustained growth in demand and attention, especially of those who know the ropes in modern art.
