Zhukov Vladimir
Painter and graphic
Painter and graphic, St. Petersburg
He was born on February, 13th in 1933 in Dunilevo village (Ivanovo region). He finished Yaroslavl Art School (1949-1953), graduated the Repin State Academic Institute of Painting (1953-1959), and worked under direction of Å. Moiseenko.
Perhaps the basis of Zhukov’s creative credo is his inner recollection, concentration which let us hear the Silence of spiritual reality. Principals of spacely and plastic composition of a picture make sure the sovereignty of poetic world created by the painter on canvas. This sovereignty explains highness of generalization and abstraction from a model, and also sharpness which is near to grotesque.
In 2008 his painting work «Winter Open Air Celebrations» was sold at Christie's Auction, South Kensington, London. And his «Katerina» was showed at Dorotheum Auction, Vienna, Austria in the same year.
